Dr. Fazila Lalani Achieved a Lot in a Short Career Span

Dr. Fazila Lalani Showcases Immense Passion for Humanity


Dr. Fazila Lalani has been able to achieve a lot within a short period of time. Presently, he is the Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Northwell-Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Fazila Lalani is known to have graduated magna cum laude from the Sienna College. She passed out with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the subject of Biology. As a matter of fact, she was awarded the combination of BA/MD Honors Program. The following step in her professional ladder was to obtain a Doctor of Medicine qualification. She secured this from New York’s Albany College. Thereafter, she undertook the Internal Medicine Internship from the Montefiore Medical Center of New York’s Bronx before joining the Emergency Medical Residency of Jacobi Medical Center. She followed up by working at the York Hospital of Pennsylvania. This is too was an Emergency Medical Residency.

However, several of her colleagues and acquaintances will testify that the primary preoccupation of Fazila Lalani is her immense belief in the human species. She has clearly explained that her primary concern is to help human species evolve into caring and empathetic. For her, these are not just words. As a matter of fact, Fazila Lalani has spent a significant amount of her time to work in the United States and Overseas. She does this to improve people who are less fortunate than her. Her experience of voluntary work shows her commitment to offer robust assistance to the poorest sections of the world.

Fazila Lalani has performed the role of the Medical Relief Volunteer for the relief program of Patch Adams Foundation/AMURT of Hinge and Port-au-Prince. She came back to Haiti in the year 2016 working as the Medical Director for Palmer Trinity Medical Collaboration. This too, was in Hinge and was before joining the Mission Hospital Emergency Med Residency Program in West Bengal’s Durgapur. Here, she performed the role of a visiting professor. The former Northwell-Long Island Jewish Medical Center alumni set up an Emergency Residency Program at Mission Hospital of Durgapur. She is around three hours from Durgapur. The hospital is known to be affiliated with Mother Teresa’s mission. As a matter of fact, this hospital has been treating nuns for free since its establishment. The doctors of Jewish Medical Center have visited Durgapur in order to perform a formal education.

Even though there are many residencies occurring throughout India, the program of Durgapur is known for its rigor and intensity. Residents are usually called upon to help out the Intensive Care Unit. She also wants to travel to the extreme interior to take care of the sick patients.
